Mr Samuel Crooks
I am delighted to serve on the Local Governing Body. It is a privilege to be able to support the school at such an early stage.
I chose Magna Carta for my children because I wanted them to be in a supportive environment where they could thrive academically and as young people. I was, and am, impressed with the breadth of the school's curriculum and its commitment to ensuring all students learn each subject deeply.
I volunteer as an economics tutor for the Access Project which seeks to help A-level students from disadvantaged backgrounds enter top universities. More than anything, I help students believe in themselves and recognise that every wrong answer, every failure is not a conclusion on ability but an opportunity to learn.I am heartened to have found a school which places such a strong emphasis on ensuring all students are supported and freed to succeed.
I work in the financial service industry supporting companies to implement appropriate governance and risk management frameworks. This background is useful as I try to help the school management team achieve its goals but also ensure that they do not fall below the high standards they have set themselves.
