Today we're thinking of the iconic Janet Ahlberg, who was born in 1944. Her illustrations brought so much joy to so many people ❤️ https://t.co/tNyjzqVGDx

What we read and how we read as children is not trivial or 'childish'. It's these books that contribute to our patterns of thinking, dreaming, hoping, fearing, yearning for...and of course our patterns of reading and understanding the printed word for the rest of our lives.

Please, please, pretty please stop saying ‘wheelchair bound’ or ‘confined to a wheelchair’. I am not chained to my wheelchair. I can sit in other seats. My wheelchair is freedom. Pass it on.

Child Protection & Safeguarding

Magna Carta Primary Academy has a Local Advisory Board (LAB) which is actively involved in all aspects of school life. It is the responsibility of the Local Advisory Board to ensure that all members of our school community are safe and have equality of opportunity in line with this policy and our Equality and Diversity Policy.

The Local Advisory Board works with school staff to support school improvement and monitor the impact of projects and initiatives.

The Local Advisory Boards in Burnt Mill Academy Trust takes seriously its responsibility under section 175 of the Education Act 2002 to safeguard and promote the welfare of children; and to work together with other agencies to ensure adequate arrangements within our Trust to identify, assess, and support those children who are suffering harm.

These documents contain information on what schools and colleges should do and set out the legal duties with which schools and colleges must comply in order to keep children safe:
